Arval UK, part of the BNP Paribas Group, recently won the Silver Award for Education at the 2013 International CSR Excellence awards.
The awards are an important part of an international campaign to find companies excelling in Corporate Social Responsibility.
The awards are organised by PPP (Partners in Protecting the Planet), a voluntary group of businesses that encourage companies to make a positive impact on their staff, suppliers, local communities and the environment.
Arval are a leading provider of vehicle funding and fleet management solutions and won the award for the work they do to educate fleet managers, drivers, employees, school pupils and local communities in responsible activities. Some example activities include a mock crash video aimed at making roads safer, a health and wellbeing programme for employees, and ‘alternative vehicle’ trials, which look at electric and alternative vehicle technologies.
Tracey Scarr, Arval’s CSR Manager in the UK, received the award at the ceremony on board HMS Belfast on the River Thames.
Tracey commented: “This award provides fantastic recognition of the effectiveness of our CSR initiatives. It reinforces our commitment to acting responsibly and demonstrates how the activities we deliver are deemed to be making a significant difference to a variety of audiences.”
The judges said: “Arval takes a sustainable approach to CSR across the areas of environment, road safety, charity/community and the workplace; and they proactively deliver initiatives that make a positive difference for employees, customers, their drivers, the industry and the wider community.”
