Combatting climate change
In the UK we continue to focus on reducing our environmental footprint and in 2016 we were awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for carbon management in recognition of our results. In addition to steps that reduce the environmental impact of doing business, we are investing in research into climate change and carbon levels to better understand the world of tomorrow.
BNP Paribas received the Carbon Trust Standard for carbon management and continues to build on its ISO 14001 certification. Seventy-four percent of the total business in the UK is now covered by this robust environmental management process with a further two business entities expected to receive certification in 2017.
BNP Paribas takes steps to reduce its ecological footprint as much as possible, working with external auditors to independently verify our performance data. Here in the UK, BNP Paribas reduced its total greenhouse gas emissions by more than 11% per FTE in 2015 when compared to our baseline (2013). Read more…
The fight against climate change is a major challenge. The BNP Paribas Foundation has been supporting research since 2010 through the ‘Climate Initiative,’ a programme comprised of ten research projects focusing on climate change, its causal factors and its consequences.
